Founded by Haruo Kanki, a publisher dubbed the “Master of Bestseller Creation” in 1977, Kanki Publishing publishes books in wide-ranging categories, including business, economics, management, self-development, daily life knowledge and skills, humanities and linguistics, while pursuing originality based on the motto: “Convince, Satisfy and Fascinate Our Readers”.
The Kanki Publishing corporate logo is inspired by a cactus, a desert plant in vivid green, deeply rooted in the arid and barren soil and vigorously striving to grow. Projecting strength and joyful vitality, the plant reflects our own quest to remain rejuvenated and retain the power to survive. The logo also symbolizes our determination to constantly enliven and enrich people’s lives.
Joined Kodansha Ltd. in 1927. After helping to found Kobunsha, a spin-off of the first company and occupying other key roles such as Publishing Department Chief, he assumed presidency. His huge success in publishing bestsellers and million-seller works earned him the nickname “the Greatest Post-War Book Producer” or “Master of Bestseller Creation”. Shortly after founding Kanki Publishing in 1977, he passed away, leaving his founding spirit as a legacy, based on which the company strives to deliver books of unrivaled quality and in the largest quantity possible.
Two major pillars of the Kanki Publishing business comprise book publication and employee training programs.
The Publication Department publishes books in various genres, ranging from practical business fields, economics, management, self-development, daily life knowledge and skills to humanities and linguistics.
The Training Business Department started in 2001 and provides companies with various training packages for new employees, managers and executives with lectures from actual book authors.
